LeftWinger 5,065 Report post Posted December 5 Detroit Red Wings (10-11-4) vs. Ottawa Senators (10-12-3) When: Thursday, December 5 Time: 7 p.m. ET Where: Canadian Tire Centre (Kanata, Ontario) Channel: Fan Duel Sports Network Detroit Stream: FuboTV (Free Trial), DirecTV Stream As the Detroit Red Wings set their sights on a much-needed victory, they find themselves facing off against the Ottawa Senators in a pivotal matchup that promises to be anything but ordinary. After a frustrating overtime loss against the Boston Bruins—where Lucas Raymond's impressive two-goal performance went unrewarded—the Wings are eager to bounce back and reclaim their footing in the Atlantic Division. The recent trend of leaving points on the board has been troubling for Detroit. Despite flashes of brilliance throughout the season, the Red Wings have struggled to convert opportunities into wins, leaving them 10 points behind the division leaders as we enter early December. With plenty of time left in the season to shift the momentum, the pressure is mounting. Fans are hoping that the team can harness their potential and deliver a stronger performance against their rivals from Ottawa. On the other side of the ice, the Senators are in a similar boat. Once considered contenders in their bid for a playoff spot, Ottawa has grappled with inconsistency that keeps them at the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings. Despite acquiring key players—like goaltender Linus Ullmark—to shore up their lineup, they haven’t been able to churn out the victories necessary to climb back into contention. This matchup presents both teams with an opportunity to spark a turnaround that could reignite their respective postseason dreams. Thursday night’s contest marks the first of four meetings this season between the Senators and the Red Wings. Last year's rivalry saw Ottawa come out on top in three of those encounters, adding an extra layer of urgency and motivation for Detroit to set the record straight. With both teams hungry for points and pride, this battle at Canadian Tire Centre is sure to deliver excitement and intensity on the ice. Fans can follow the action live on FuboTV, as the Red Wings aim to shake off their recent setbacks and skate toward victory in what promises to be a thrilling clash. Will Detroit finally break through their overtime struggles, or will the Senators continue to assert their dominance? Only time will tell, and the puck is set to drop on a crucial night for both franchises! PROJECTED LINEUP 1 Rick D reacted to this

Rick D 371 Report post Posted December 6 For a team that is built on so many scoring forwards it seems like a shame that they play in a system that only affords them a dozen shots through 2 periods. This team needs a big change.

You're going have a much better time shifting to the Lions. They are at 1997-98 red wing level right now. I'm not joking, this team appears special. Hockey is my farvorite sport too, but before the Red Wings, I was a major Pistons fan. If you're a detroit homer shift. Something historic is happening. If youre a weird canadian that has nothing to shift to and is stuck with your choice in the red wings. Sorry? 1 MabusIncarnate reacted to this
MabusIncarnate 5,355 Report post Posted December 6 I watched the Lions tonight instead of the Wings, imagine if they get Hutchinson back deep in playoffs on top of it. Gibbs/Monty combo have been just a blast to watch. Looks like Husso played well tonight at least, yet another game where our goalie holds the opposing team to 2 goals and still can't get them the W. Offense sucks s*** 5 on 5 this year, something needs to change. I thought Kane/Tarasenko would be more difference makers for goal scoring at least. Tired of losing, if you haven't hopped on the Lions train yet, do so. They are very fun to watch this season. 4 AtlantaHotWings, Jimmybigrigs69, kipwinger and 1 other reacted to this
Jimmybigrigs69 301 Report post Posted December 6 Honestly I'm starting to feel embarrassed rooting for the wings. I should've felt the same 5 and even 10 years ago. I held onto the notion that this was the best run franchise in sports and would eventually turn around, because of the past success. But f*** this Do u think this team is really ever gona win dick in the larkin era? If this is your best player the league is not threatened. Oh here comes 35 yo Kane. He did stuff once upon a time. Debrincat is not a 1 dinensional small scoring forward whos eaisly shut down Welcome to Minnesota Mediocrity. A team of pretty good players. But hey one of these pretty good guys could turn out to be good. Then we can be like the rangers and constantly score decent points but never achieve anything Umunless Raymond, seider, and ed are game changing stars; they serious help 1 Motor City Mullets reacted to this

(Sorry canadians) They're breaking scoring records as a team. Breaking rushing records as a tandem. Literally every starter on D is on IR and theyre still winning games. The lions have masked yzermans failures in the hockey world because only canuck wing bros from sarnia are paying attention. Detroit is watching the motor city kitties eat up the NFL. I remember guys like me saying crap like that during the Harrington era and batch eras and then looking stupid, but this feels so much different. Imjuries dont matter. Defense seemingly doesnt matter. Our 3rd 4thstring just steps up and gets it done. But to bury the defense a lil, our offense makes it seem like "defense wins championships" is for idiots. Campell already has the lombardi trophy. The lions are a case study in what GOOD COACHING can do. I do believe they got heavy assistance from drafting well, but the lions have done that plenty of years b4 this witj terrible results. Dan campbell has single handedly changed this franchise. I truly belive that Glen could make the same selections under patricia and none of this would turn out remotely similar. We have a special coach right now. 1 MabusIncarnate reacted to this
town123 212 Report post Posted December 6 Lions: made a giant stride with the bounty they got from trading Stafford. Wings: fell off the cliff drafting Z instead of Quinn Hughes. And yes, the coaching is also a huge difference.
kipwinger 8,675 Report post Posted December 6 Quinn Hughes is a big puss who scores but can't defend. He's not shutting anyone down, he's not killing penalties. He wants to be paid like a 25 minute a night, all purpose, defenseman but he isn't one. He's Mike Green 2.0 We have studs coming at every position. Time to get a real winning coach to teach them how to play properly. Not Jay Woodcroft. I want Quenneville. 1 Motor City Mullets reacted to this
