Serious question. With Kane's comments about Toews making a comeback, would Yzerman even dare to sign him to a "prove it" contract?

Talk about trolling the Hawks hard!

I won't deny I haven't thought about it. His last season with the Hawks was actually pretty decent. There would need to be A LOT of wiggle room to get out of the contract in case he sucks, but I wouldn't hate giving him a shot in Compher or Copp's spot in the event that we trade a center.

I have commented on other threads that I think he could come in as a 2C here. I wouldn't mind having him, even if he was lower down the lineup. He would be a good leader in the locker room too.

Is he a 2C? Probably not. And we have 3 other guys who can play 3C. It we are acquiring another center, it needs to be someone better than Copp, JT, Kasper

Guys, I just met Mike Babcock and he took my phone, looked at my dick pics, and then made me write a list of all the most useless Red Wings this season. At the top of the list is Tarasenko. He’s actively worse than Petry was.

Looking at the standings this AM

We are still in the thick of it granted a few teams need to lose to for us to get closer. With a Western CA trip looming this upcoming week. Oil-thurs, Flames- Sat, Nucks- Sun, Kracken - Tues

Could this trip be a defining moment for the team one way or another?

I think so. With the exception of Edmonton those are all winnable games (for a road trip). If we can win 3/4 we’ll be sitting in a playoff spot by the middle of next week IMO. It’s doable, but now’s the time for this team to really step up.

We wake up this morning two points out of the Wild Card, three points out of the final divisional seed, and three VERY beatable divisional rivals just ahead of us in the standings. The postseason is still very attainable. What an unbelievable turnaround we've seen. There's no doubt in my mind that the team we just watched spank LA last night (with a third line of Motte-Veleno-Shine?!?!?) can go better than .500 against Ottawa, Montreal, Boston, and Tampa for the remainder of the season. If we can be the best (or even 2nd best) team in that group we should make the playoffs...assuming we keep it up.

It's a good day to be a Red Wings fan.

I mucked up.   I thought our game vs TBay was tonight for some reason.   Oh well, gotta lose sometimes.

You could see they were ready for vacation after that road trip. We outplayed Tampa but we were lackadaisical with the puck and the turnovers killed us.

Either  one of the WC spots should be the goal with the stretch goal being 3rd in Division. Frankly if they get the playoffs period I will consider this a successful season even if we get swept first round.

Our remaining strength of schedule is ridiculous I hope they play up.

Since McClellan took over we have beaten a bunch of the top teams in the league. I doubt we keep ripping off 7 game win streaks but I think staying well above .500 the rest of the way isn’t unrealistic for this team. We are a good squad.

Next 2 games could be interesting 4 points on the line as far as WC spots.

I definitely need a win on Sat as going with Ohio family members.

Best part is I know when my pee break will be. When they honor the Natty champs at the 2nd intermission!! No way as a Maize/Blue guy can I stomach O-H-blah blah chants.
