Everytime the forum goes down, I send him a facebook message, then all of a sudden (coincidence maybe) it's back up and running. This last time, it was down all weekend (or more) and today I sent the message, and it was back up shortly thereafter. I will continue that as long as it seems to be working. Hopefully he will promote a couple more of us and we can help take care of this place.

If I recall Matt is a pretty public guy right? He's all over socials and whatnot? Someone who has those platforms should tag him in a post saying that the site has become overrun by Russian bots, vulgarity, racism, and vitriolic political arguments. Specifically mention how people casually throw around offensive terms about black people, homosexuals, and women and that Matt has been contacted over and over and doesn't bother to do anything about it. Let all his friends/followers see him tagged in the post and see if that gets his attention. I bet he pays attention after that considering he's a pretty vocal liberal online from what I remember.

I feel like he knows this place is here, he runs it, and is just done with it at this point. It's slowed to a near halt and let's be honest, a few of you treat this place like an edgy teenager's Twitch stream and he decided to jump ship while we bled members. It's off putting when this place used to run on community rules and had conversation flow about hockey. That obviously doesn't go for all of you, but reading back on some of the s*** that was being posted here when I was away for a while and there was little to no mod staff was kind of absurd.

I do encourage someone to reach out if you have him on socials, i've sent him messages on Xbox that go ignored.

If you want this community to survive, show some respect for the site. We are hanging on by a thread.

I feel like this place just needs 2 moderators (Lefty and Rick D) and a site admin (Mabus) to become a great place again.  But it has to happen top down.  The site has to be yours, Mabus.  If you can alter the sign up process to one that has to go through the 3 mods (you, Lefty, Rick D), then we could avoid spam all together.  Lefty and Rick D are the most level headed and neutral posters on here, so they would rule fairly.  And they're always here.  Kip would also make a good moderator if needed for those reasons.  But first things first, the spam bots have to be stopped.  There's ZERO chance of this place regaining its former glory if the site is always crashing.  Gotta get a site administrator that can keep the site active through establishing good protocol.  Then we can work on turning the wild west into a civilized society.

I'd support both of them as mods, and i'd tell Matt the same if we can get him here. You know I was never a tough mod, and I always tried to be neutral and fair unless I was drunk and people were sending me into PMs that I didn't know were PMs. I'd loosen up on the crap talking, I don't care if you guys wanna call each other names within reason. I wouldn't be opposed to saying start a Politics topic in the Water Cooler on a trial basis and I just won't look at it unless there's a report. Idk if he'd go for giving it over to me, or what this place costs monthly to run which would likely fall on me also, which is fine as long as it's not astronomical. But I want to keep the main forums, the GDTs civil, and on topic because we would need to aim to get people to start returning, or people to sign up again.

Vote Mabus 2024, less homework for everyone and better meals too.
