What do you think about Adam Boqvist?  If we can get him for under 2 mil, we should.  Former 8th OA pick.  23 years old.  SWEDISH.  What the hell is the SCAM waiting for?

Injury-prone; missed at least 30 games in each of the past three seasons. And he's just not an Yzerman-type defenseman (e.g. Trouba).

Scam mentioned another move is possible before the season starts at the last presser.

IMO that move revolves around Joe Veleno.

Veleno elected for salary arbitration. Arbitration opens a 2nd buyout window. Once the arbitor concludes a contract with Veleno yzerman will be free to buyout Husso (cant buyout Holl, player must make 4M+ per year).

This frees up another 2Mish between buyout cost and Veleno. We can then take on roughly another $5Mish in salary in a trade. More if we move someone like Holl out.

Why not just LTIR Husso and save the 4 mil ish all together while keeping the goalie for the playoffs?

Why sit a bad goalie all season and then expect him to be good in the playoffs?

Just waive him and hope he gets picked up, or trade him with retained salary to somebody for the ol' future considerations.

IMO they can't go with 3 goalies again. You have Campbell for injury replacement. You go with Lyon and Talbot in Detroit and Cossa, Gylander and Campbell in GR.

Yup.  I'm very curious as to why the GM's don't play chess with each other and offersheet RFA's when they have cap room.  Why would the Wings let Bettman complete azz fk them over at the draft year over year and then not use all the cap space they have due to not getting any big dollar players by having higher draft picks to offersheet RFA's on other teams that are budding stars?  Seems like that would be a must type of thing today to remain competitive.  Edmonton gets 4 number 1 OA picks in addtion to 3 top 10 ers in the span of 10-12 years, and another team that can't get ONE FRICKING pick inside the top 3 is supposed to play nice?  For me, the SCAM is truly a SCAM if he does NOT take advantage of the rules and build the best possible team he can assemble.  "Well, they'll just offersheet Seider."  Well, stop ***** around SCAM boy and sign your RFA's.  Stop trying to dyck all the good young players over while you're handing out money to shyte players that don't even do anything productive for the team.  Starting to think that Yzerman is a Ken Holland clone.  Sure, he was great when he walked into a star studded Lightning team.  Now he's had the reigns of a dud for almost 6 years.  Outside of a few savvy draft picks in Seider, Raymond, Edvinsson, and Danielsson, there's not a whole lot of WOW in our GM.  Might be time for the media to start pointing out that the SCAM needs to be a bit more shrewd in his business dealings instead of waiting for 15 years of draft picks to ripen.

Offersheeting other team's players is just a bad idea. First, you are just asking for someone to do the same thing to you down the road. Second, good luck ever trying to make deals thereafter with the team you screwed over. That is a burnt bridge. And third, you just stained your reputation as far as other GM's go. You are only making your job more difficult going forward.

That's why SMART GMs don't do that.

I disagree.  I think most of the GM's in the league are 10th grade education former players like the SCAM that don't even know what they're doing.  Why are you screwing another team over if you're using your cap space to your greatest advantage?  That is the ENTIRE REASON for a salary cap.  So one team can't have all the good players at whatever price they want to pay them.  Broberg not being offersheeted is the salary cap being circumvented.  And when our team is the one that's ALWAYS LOSING, it gets really old really fast.  We get screwed by the league on draft day 5 straight years in a row with the worst being #1 overall pick bound to pick #4 (The only time that far of a drop from 1 OA has happened in lotto ball history for any sport, by the way), and we're supposed to sit back and let Edmonton pay Broberg 1 mil this year when he's easily worth 5 mil.  That's horse shyte.  We should make Edmonton pay him if they want to keep him and make them have to get rid of another player that goes into the NHL pool.  Tough shyte if the other GM's get their panties in a twist.
