kipwinger 8,749 Report post Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) Larkin in criminally underrated. He played 99% of his career on a historically bad re-building team and has still hovered around a point per game. Then suddenly he's got Raymond, Dcat, and Kane and he's over a point per game. What a surprise. Give the guy actual talent and he thrives, but make him drag around losers like Mantha, AA, Kubalik, and Bertuzzi and he'll get them career seasons doing all the work himself. If we win a Cup with Larkin as the 1C people will suddenly "discover" how good he is, but only after trying to convince us that they were right all along and he's only now "taking it to another level" or something dumb like that. I've got more respect for Larkin than I do for almost any other current NHL player. Half these "superstars" walked onto teams loaded with top talent (cough...McDavid...cough...Mathews...cough cough...Kucherov). Larks has been like Moses leading his people through the desert. A true leader. Edited September 25, 2024 by kipwinger 3 town123, Rick D and AtlantaHotWings reacted to this

Larkin is damn good - in fact I'd say he's our best overall 2-way player, but not our most offensively gifted player. I honestly doubt he'll have 1200 plus pts when he retires...He's already 28 yrs old, has 506 pts in 652 games...Do you honestly believe he'll have another 700 plus pts by the time his current contract expires after the 2030/2031 season (if he even makes it that far and if injuries don't cut his career short)? I'd love to be wrong, but it isn't gonna happen.
Jimmybigrigs69 353 Report post Posted September 25, 2024 Why is this Larkin-is-not-a-2C garbage stinking up this based Kane-pilled thread? Patty Daddy is now healthy AND had offseason training for the first time in YEARS. He's the silverback on this team and he's back to 2022 form. Larks said it himself at the media availability; when Kane stands up in the room and speaks the guys on the team actually STFU and listen. He's the GOAT and he's gonna lead this sorry excuse of club to a 2025 stanley mafuggin championship. Let's fuqqin go.

Jimmybigrigs69 353 Report post Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) This has been on my mind awhile, and I think I'm just gonna say it. But let me preface this first by saying I love Poland. I probably love Poland more than the Poles do. As a boy I would summer in Gdansk, and now I often go out to eat at Polish Village Cafe in Hamtramck because it takes me back to that charming coastal city that I enjoyed so much as a boy. If you go, get the polish plate. It's a lil kielbasa, a lil pierogi, a lil stuffed cabbage... a complete tour of the eastern European comfort food we all grew up with. Better than anything the most well trained Parisian chef would give you. That said, the poles as a people are complete and utter scum. Thieves and scam artists. Not far removed from the gypsy race. Just look at Al Sobotka... a philandering drunk who never even learned how to use the bathroom. Disgusting nasty folks. Which brings me to my ultimate point: PATRICK. KANE. DIDN'T. PUNCH. THAT. POLISH. CABBIE. But I wish he had. I woulda said GOOD. That's for ripping off the good people of Buffalo NY for the last 62 years JAN. You ruined Buffalo, the last great American city, with your filthy Polish scams. Lets look at the facts: JAN WAS ILLEGALLY OPERATING A CAB. Which is very illegal in the great state of NY. A state that banned uber for 5 years to protect their cab industry. Furthermore, Jan didn't even have a drivers license. HE. DIDNT. HAVE. A. DRIVERS. LICENSE. Not only was he scamming and endangering the life of Patrick Kane, he was scamming the American people. Thumbing his big polish nose at the entire modern American interstate highway system. Why didn't he have a drivers license you ask? BECAUSE HE WAS A DRUNK. Jan had two previous DUI convictions... But the American judicial system doesn't apply to Jan folks... Maybe when he's wrongfully suing Patrick Kane it does, but not when he's out driving drunk in his illegal cab, endangering the lives of others. HOW. MANY. JOHNNY. HOCKEYS. HAVE. TO. DIE. BEFORE. WE. DEPORT. THESE. PEOPLE. His second scam of the night, after falsely posing as a cab to pickup victims, was attempting to shortchange Kane on the fare. The classic polish pay ploy. Ive seen it a hundred times. They render you a service, then claim to have no change, when you try pay for something with a large bill. And if you dispute not getting your change back THEY TRY TO SAY YOU ARE ROBBING THEM. It's a gaslighting scam FULL STOP. But Jimmy, it was only 20 cents, was it really worth the dispute? YES. It's about common decency. Don't come to this country to operate a cash business, and then act all surprised when disputes start because you won't provide change. ITS. A. CASH. BUSINESS. MORON JAN. Furthermore, eyewitness's stated that Jan LOCKED KANE IN THE CAR, so that he couldn't leave, which is what escalated the dispute. Oh, you want to imprison me? You want to kidnap ME? I WOULD HAVE CAVED HIS BIG POLISH DOME IN... lucky for us, and the Detroit Red Wings, Kane is a cooler character than me, and most Americans. A gentle soul if you will. After a brief tussle he was able to free himself from Jans crooked cash cab and fled on foot from his would be capitor. I cant imagine how scared Kaner must of been in those moments, fleeing in terror... And lastly, the only cash found on Kane when the cops caught up with him was a $5 bill. The fare was over triple that. So Jan got the money! Then falsely reported to police that Kane robbed him! TLDR: A polish criminal defrauded and entrapped Kane by posing as a cab, attempted to scam and rob him, escalated that to kidnapping when his scam didn't work, and then filed false police reports against Kane when he escaped. Jan should be in JAIL for life for his crimes that night, and for tarnishing Kane's name and brand with his false lawsuits. Kane didn't punch that cabbie... but I wish he had. Jimmybigrigs69 353 Report post Posted Tuesday at 09:33 PM How do we feel about Kane at this point? I think I'm over it. Leadership is a problem for this team, and it needs a shake up. Unless we are going to trade Larkin, Kane is the guy I would subtract. He's aging and his contract is expiring. He doesnt bring any physicality or defensive acumen to the team (like at all) but will score a big goal here and there. Further, I didnt like him quiting on Lalonde. Say what you want about Derek, but that's not a behavior I would tolerate or want near our young players. This team needs lots more grit and leadership. Kane doesnt bring that. Id swap him out for someone like Marchand.

Jimmybigrigs69 353 Report post Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM This team is VERY setup to sign a Marner this summer. To the point where, if we do, pundits will literally go "this was always a goal of the yzerplan" and "the true goal of the yzerplan is revealed" i dont wanna get ppls hopes up. But this play seems very much on the table to me. Detroit is in Marners backyard, can pay him, and he'd be joining a roster loaded with young talent just about ready to push for glory... theres a lot to like about this landing spot for him. DeBrincat was a steal, even though Ottawa's hands were tied because Detroit was the only place he'd sign an extension with. The only thing is, Ottawa wound up getting Linus Ulmark with the 1st round pick (Boston's original from the Bertuzzi deal) that we sent them....plus they're in the playoffs now, so I don't think they care what DeBrincat does here. This is a perfect example of why we need to trade this offseason to upgrade our team. I guess it would be nice to have that spare 1st round pick to trade again, but still...
