According to TSN guys, Copp told NYR right away he was going to Detroit. PLUS, TSN felt that not only did we get the better term (5 yrs vs. 7 yrs) we also got the better player. Not so sure about Copp being the better player (I preferred Trochek), but 5 year deal Copp definitely beats 7 year deal Trochek. Rangers will be buying out that contract by 2027. It's lovely to see. Plus, plenty of good trade assets over the next few seasons now to keep that prospect pool stocked. Just look at Tampa, they always have another guy that seems to be able to come in and step up when they lose someone because of the cap. Our bottom pairing was really bad last year and Lindstrom was half of that equation.
