People say Holland can't trade, but he deserves a ton of credit for this one. He managed to sell basically a useless player for a 2nd and a 3rd. Handing out big contracts to McDonagh's buddies last year is really gonna bite NYR in the rear lol. And now they're listening to offers on McDonagh too lol 5 kliq, chaps80, TheDetroitRedWings and 2 others reacted to this
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted February 8, 2018 (edited) Maybe NYR finally realized that an offensive defenseman that score less than most defensive defensemen is actually a useless pile of shyte and doesn't belong in the NHL. kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted February 8, 2018 This honestly makes the NYR looks so bad. Not even hating on Smith right now but just appalled at NYRs decisions. That was a high paying contract they gave him... just to waive him..? 3 2 chaps80, Jonas Mahonas, Gordie Howe hat trick and 2 others reacted to this

toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted February 8, 2018 The worst part was "on the first year of a $17+ million contract" - FIRST YEAR! Its not like they locked up a player long term for big dollars and then got bitten towards the end of the contract.....he literally just signed the deal. marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted February 8, 2018 Hronek and Cholo better pan out, because god damn Holland has been a train-wreck with drafting dmen. Has he ever even drafted a legit top pairing dman besides Kronwall, who himself was only at that level for a few seasons?

Jacksoni 418 Report post Posted February 8, 2018 Hah. What a story, completely fubar. Glad we dropped him, that was a right move if any. Happy ******* birthday. I still hold a hard grudge against him for pushing the puck while sitting on the bench on to the ice in the playoffs against the Lightning resulting in an automatic penalty. For me, that is simply unacceptable. I would have dropped him on the spot and let the lawyers handle it. 1 kickazz reacted to this
