Wingnut1989 165 Report post Posted June 18, 2016 2mil is fair, guys got good size and a nice shot if he would shoot more. If he can breakout it will be a steal. Hopefully we let miller walk tho and some other baggage
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted June 18, 2016 I just hope they don't try to put him higher on the lineup sheet than he's shown he's capable of. I'd rather have a highly effective third liner than a no impact second liner. But I think this was a good signing.
MrazekFanBoy 223 Report post Posted June 18, 2016 He had an impact when he was a first line center his rookie year I think he'll be fine on the second line because his line mates won't be Richards and Helm.. Amazing how Pav produced on his own basically
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted June 18, 2016 I'm okay with this. I don't care much for him. Has his periods where he produces and then seems to disappear. Seems like a "show me what you can do" contract.

PavelValerievichDatsyuk 1,935 Report post Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) Yeah, I do think it's slightly high, but not by much. Tatar got 2.75 on his RFA deal with 19g 39pts. I guess with inflation, his more rounded game, and the fact that he's more proven having played 2 and a half years - it's makes sense that 13g, 36pts and 14g, 25pts gets you 2.075. Honestly, I've never been blown away by Sheahan. The Jurco-Shea-Tat line was great and I think we should take advantage of that chemistry. At the same time, I'd rather have both AA and Helm as our 3C. Unless Sheahan is the 2C (which is a stretch for him), I think he'll likely be switched to the wing and I didn't think that was great in the past. It will be an interesting year of players making their claim for their spots within the roster since very little seems a given. The Datsyukian Deke 127 Report post Posted June 20, 2016 I like it if he is used correctly. Read: Third line center. Not playing higher, not playing the wing, no nonsense. Centering third line, or even fourth if he is surpassed over time by more talented guys, doing his work on the PK where he was really good last season. Same thing as with Glendening, I'm always about to riot when the guy plays higher or on the wing. That's just completely insane.
