kliq 3,763 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 My vote would go to Chelios as well. The rest other then maybe Leetch were never the greatest at their position at any particular time. 1 TheXym reacted to this

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 Chelios. Skill, longevity, and accomplishments are unrivaled among American-born players. Leetch and Modano are up there, too, but like others have said, Modano was never the greatest at his position, so it's hard for him to take away the top spot from Chelios, who was. 1 TheXym reacted to this

DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 Hate to say it but Patrick Kane will be up there at the end of his career. He is 26 and already have 600 points in the NHL, and has 2 cups in which he had HUGE parts of (winning goal, and a couple series clinching goals). He also should have a Conn Smythe but Toews cried his way to the 2010 one which he disappeared for the last 2 series.
LeftWinger 5,110 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) Modano? LeClair? Leetch? Chelios? Roenick? Mark Howe? Other? I'm leaning towards Chelios myself. Leader, hard-nosed gamer, great guy in the room and a seemingly inexhaustible will to win. In this order: Chelios, Modano, Hull, Roenick. Kane will surpass Roenick by time his career is over, but will still be behind Chelios, Modano and Hull. I am not saying that Kane won't finish with more points than Modo, but for a long time Modo played with some inept Minnesota teams, Kane has had a an all star team for pretty much his entire career. I love JR, but once he got traded, he wasn't quite as dominant as he was in Chicago. The same would happen for Kane, I am afraid, so he better hope he never gets traded. Also I would like to add that I think Kane is better than any of the other mentioned US born players...and no Lafontaine is does not belong on that list, neither does Carson. Chelios Modano Hull Roenick ...with Kane coming up fast. Edited January 25, 2015 by LeftWinger 1 TheXym reacted to this

GMRwings1983 8,802 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 Chelios. Not even close. Modano followed by Chelli LOL. Madonna is not in Chelios' league. One is a top 10 all time defensemen, the other would be lucky to be a top 50 all time forward. My vote is Modano Based one what? Having a higher overall in video games in the late 90's? 2 TheXym and Vladinator16 reacted to this

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 25, 2015 I'd go with Cheli. He was one of the best defensemen ever, he was dedicated to the game, he worked hard, and he won some stuff. Ya gotta win stuff to be a winner, ya know. 2 TheXym and F.Michael reacted to this

LeftWinger 5,110 Report post Posted January 26, 2015 I hope you demoted Hull here for being born in Canada. Otherwise I have to assume you've committed some horrific crime and now you're trying to prepare your insanity defense... Ya, after I responded, I realized the it was US BORN players, but left it becase he is a US player...I do believe he and Modo are on par with each other, but again, just like Kane, Hull played with much better players (not taking anything away from Hull whatsoever) and Modo pretty much carried Minnesota for his first few seasons. If Hull and Modo were switched in order, no biggie... Chelly, Hull, Modano, Kane is agreeable when it all shakes out years from now...
