Kira 451 Report post Posted December 1, 2013 @AnsarKhanMLive: Ottawa's Jared Cowen talks about his hit that injured Pavel Datsyuk. http://t.co/NvicYqZMfQ *eyeroll* As the saying goes, dry that out you could fertilize a golf course. 1 King Crane reacted to this
frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) I'm so disappointed with Kennys NON response he had 5 freaking days to get some AHL tough guy and he did nothing, I guess the almighty PP should make them pay again? Maybe someone needs to hurt Z and Nyquist too in order for him to react, so disappointed. Yes, beating them on the scoreboard WOULD be nice but it won't be a statement jsut a win, statements are what the Isles did to the Pens Personally I will not be happy, till one of them is out with a concussion (starplayer), maybe Kronner is going to surprise us with kronwalling Karlson or Spezza. Get well soon Pasha, sadly your GM doesn't have the fire to get some people for your protection. Edited December 1, 2013 by frankgrimes
vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted December 1, 2013 Vengeance is best served cold. I know we are all expecting something to happen to Cowen but I rather beat the sh** out of them on the scoreboard and take a win. I hope Dats is back soon although we aren't having trouble winning games without him or scoring either Can't we have both? 1 55fan reacted to this
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted December 1, 2013 The Wings have absolutely no roster or cap space. You can't just magically sign a tough guy for one game to go after Cowen. While I'm not defending the situation Holland has placed the team under, the circumstances don't lend themselves to getting "tougher" against Ottawa.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted December 1, 2013 "Natural reflex for a defenseman" seems an odd excuse for no suspension.

Dabura 12,228 Report post Posted December 2, 2013 So, there's a good chance Pavel Datsyuk - one of the very best and most admired and respected and well-liked hockey players on the planet, and one of the current faces of the Detroit Red Wings and Russian hockey - could miss this season's Winter Classic (Detroit), aka The Biggest Hockey Game Ever, and possibly even the Winter Olympics (Russia). Awesome.
ami 273 Report post Posted December 2, 2013 In a perfect world Cowen would get kronwalled and then later he would eat some punches and then after that he would cry over a 9-0 loss in an ultraperfect world, cowen would also require medical attention and his medical bill is then unintentionally sent to NHL's Director of Player Safety (a.k.a. Shanny)
Guest mjtm77 Report post Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) If anybody on here watched the Hockeycentral at Noon show they interviewed Nick Kronwall. When asked about HBO filming and the upcoming days he said something like "we just hope Pavel can get back to his former self" Take this how you wish, but I say Dats is out for at least another two weeks. After that its gravy, nobody knows. The fact there was no suspension is a joke (reffing has been for years now) and thank god we have some easy opponents coming up. Its just what we need.... RedWang 422 Report post Posted December 3, 2013 Well the article says, he will need a week of practicing, which may start tuesday. So if he starts practicing tues/weds. He'll potentially be back by next thursdays game (see the months schedule, where we play TBL x2,PIT,ANA,TOR, arguably our toughest stretch of the season.) They're resting pavs while we play the nonplayoff contenders. Hoping he'll be ready to go for said stretch against the really good teams. HOPING im right. He was at least working out and skating with Draper's alumni practice today. Rushing a player of that caliber and as important as him would not be a good idea. So even if he is practicing right now, he most likely will wear a no contact jersey so that's another week till he might have contact again add to that the time to get fully into shape and it's ~ 3 weeks at the earliest. Also judging by Kronwalls comments, I don't expect a quick return if it does happen I will be pleasantly surprised.
