Guest The Production Line Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Nothing can change the order now? What about a Nashville loss and a Detroit win? Exactly.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) Yeah it would go to the series winner and Chicago would get that placing them ahead of us, if that is what it comes down to. Edited April 6, 2012 by HockeyCrazy3033

Tr!PoD#19 524 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) Chicago takes 5th with a ROW on Saturday. ROWs would be tied and Head to Head record is the next tiebreaker (Chicago already has the season series). Then the Wings should realistically win that game, unless they want to play the Preds for some reason. Which means we need Colorado to beat Nashville in regulation. FACK. At least it's in Colorado, maybe they'll play hard for their fans. Edited April 6, 2012 by Tr!PoD#
RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Nashville is NOT going to lose to Colorado with 4th on the line. I mean it can happen but they are not going to lose it.
atodaso 279 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Okay so correct me if I am wrong but, Hawks have 99 points right now with the shootout loss. They sit in 6th. Wings just need a point on Saturday against them to AT LEAST be in 5th and Two points and a Pred's loss to get 4th? Yeah, so then I guess that means all Detroit has to do is throw the game on Saturday and they're 6th. The worst part is that the Wings are playing first on Saturday so they can't really guarantee anything with a win.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) Ridiculous and exciting that with one more game left, everything is still up in the air. Goodness. Edited April 6, 2012 by HockeyCrazy3033
RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Since we play first, I suggest we throw the game and end in 6th. If that happens, Nashville sends out the AHL team to rest their players. 1 Vladifan reacted to this

Try and win and make the Predators do the same. 1 HockeyCrazy3033 reacted to this

I have enough to worry about with my classes! I think if the Wings win, we should all chat it up in a Avs/Preds GDT and root for the Avs. Can't believe I just said that. Too much? atodaso 279 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 You can't finish 4th by throwing the game on Saturday. Try and win and make the Predators do the same. Right but.... the most likely outcome will be a Nashville win against a Colorado team that has nothing left to play for. I guess the upside to being 5th is we would not have to travel out West in the first round.
CaptainCaveMan 4 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about this year's playoffs. They are still my team though, so I will be supporting them. However, I live in Nashville, and I really really really don't want to see the Preds knock us out in the first round. I would never hear the end of it. Do I really have to cheer for the Blackhawks tomorrow? :puke: If we are going to get bounced from the playoffs...I'll take any team doing it besides Nashville. Guest The Production Line Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Holy s***! The Avs are playing this bad at home!? At least Dallas lost to a good team. Sad.

I just think the Red Wings are still better off with home ice in the first round. If LA wins tonight and eliminates the Sharks from finishing third, I'm slightly more open to the whole 6th seed idea. I think the Kings or Coyotes are both very beatable, but that brings in the travel downside again. Edited April 6, 2012 by GoWings1905
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Well, it sucks we lost. But can't hate the effort, Nyquist/Emmerton/Murzak line look pretty good too. All you can ask sometimes is for an effort 1 LidsFan reacted to this
WMUCarGuy 8 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 If they end up tied, the Hawks will have the tie breaker as both teams will have the same number or points, the same ROW, but the Hawks will have more points in the games between the teams. Wings Win in regulation - Wings are 5 seed Game goes to OT - Wings are 5 seed Hawks win in regulation - Wings are 6 seed.

sibiriak 84 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) Normally, in seasons past, I wouldn't ever think of this, but the way the Wings have been playing for the last 6 weeks... I begin to wonder if it would be better for us to lose to Chicago on Sat., let them play vs Nashville in the 1st round, and play vs SJ/LA/PHX instead. Either one of those teams seems like a better matchup than Nashville right now. Edited April 6, 2012 by sibiriak

atodaso 279 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 You know what would be hilarious? If both Chicago and Detroit tried to lose the game on Saturday in order to be 6th. Guest irishock Report post Posted April 6, 2012 This assumes the Preds don't lose. Colorado isn't the type of team to tank games. They'll probably give Nashville all they've got. I think the Wings will get 4th if they beat Chicago on Sat.
13dangledangle 968 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 I didnt see the game I just saw the score...but by the look of a lot of the posts here you would think we lost 6-1 or something. All I can say is we are going to play in who we are going to play this post season and not one team out of the choices is "better" then the other. We just must have faith, like I very much do, that our boys will pull together and rock the s*** out of whomever they face...but agian I havnt seen tonites game yet...LGW 2 HockeyCrazy3033 and lil Wing's fan reacted to this
