It'll be Utah. Now, what will they be called? Coyotes are in Utah, but I hope they change it.

Moose, Bobcats, Cougars, badgers are just a few other animals that are found in Utah.

If were doing animals, Utah is the beehive state. So "The Bees", colors black and yellow, and their logo can be a big letter B on their chest.

But in all seriousness it will either be the Salt Lake Sister Wives or The Stormin' Mormons.

Utah Saints, Utah Hive, Utah Bees.

Yeah - a yellow variant and black with the old school horizontal stripes would be nice.

Interesting tidbit:

There is a clause in the sales agreement sending the yotes to Salt Lake, that if the current owner of the yotes is able to build an arena in Arizona within 5 years after this sale, he will payback the money he made in the sale, and in exchange be allowed to reactivate the phoeonix coyotes with an expansion draft.

Catch a coyote in a trap and it will chew its own paw off to escape and lose to your hockey team 5 years later

SY should be looking at this relocation as an opportunity to dump contracts. I'd imagine Utah management will be looking to compliment the already solid young players in Arizona with some competent veterans so that they don't absolutely blow right off the bat. Enter guys like Maatta/Chiarot/Copp. They'll have cap space and the willingness to use it (for once) and they won't have the benefit of starting from scratch like the expansion teams did.

Wouldn't most of the same front office personal relocate to SLC?

Otherwise you are really starting from scratch and that seems like a disaster vs the true expansion teams Vegas, Kraken, Atlanta(2026 just kidding)

Chiarot and Copp have NTCs. But Fabbri and Maata going to SLC I could see happening.

New ownership will probably keep some personel, but a big face lift with new people, his people, is probably on the horizon for them.

You doubt theres a clause in the sales agreement sending the coyotes to Utah that if Merulo can build an arena in Arizona within 5 years he will be awarded an expansion team? Cause there is.

I doubt the NHL is going to give AZ an expansion team for free.
