deltsig87 3 Report post Posted June 3, 2009 After watching his performance so far in the finals I believe Leino has been decent, but cannot bring as much to the table as Draper. Draper brings experience, speed, tenacity, faceoff skills, and PK ability. I believe all these factors combined definitely put him over the top, and at this point in the series Draper could have a large impact. We need more grit, improved faceoff winning, and obviously a better PK. Put Drapes in coach! He is missed for sure. I'm not sure who to take out of the lineup for him though, not really sure if we should take Leino out or not. It depends if the big guns are going to get ti going or not... heikks86 21 Report post Posted June 3, 2009 id rather put Draper in and take Sammy out. i hate Sammy on the point on the powerplay. yeah he has a right handed shot which is nice but id rather have Erricson or Stuart out there. I think I would prefer put him in for Sammy or Leino, although Homer has not been the same since he came back from the injury, he is not parked in front of the net and has little impact in comparrison to what we are used to seeing from him, I do not think he is 100%. Leino has looked fine dont get me wrong, but i think Draper's face off wins, His grit, and the fact he gets his nose dirty and will wear down the D alot more then what Leino is doing. I agree on all levels. I definitely feels it needs to be Leino though... Leino fits on a 2nd scoring line role, not a 4th line checking role, and that's where we have him, so the sub is clear. I'm looking forward to Leino in Detroit, but I think he needs more regular season time to be playing now above the others we have on the roster other then with injuries like we had. If Datsuk can play I'd sit Sammy, Huds or Maltby. If Sammy isn't nursing an injury, the argument for Hudler makes sense as his style doesn't seem to be a good match against the Penguins. I agree with everyone else...Draper is great for face off and pk killing...Right now I feel safer with Drapes in. If it was any other game other than game 4 of the stanley cup finals I say let leino get the practice...but we are 2 games away from another stanley cup!
