that was on hockeybuzz.com, not a creditable source i know but anyone else here this?

I would be very happy with that, as far as coaches go that is a long term deal, very rarely do you see a coach get 5-7 years.

And TBTH with you I don't give a crap what the $$$$$ amount is, he earned it!!!

Wings brass has traditionally refrained from negotiating contracts during the playoffs. Maybe its more of a rule for player negotiations but who knows.

Did this get out now to make the Ottawa rumors go away? We'll have to wait and see.

I concur... I remember hearing on FSN that Holland and Babcock had suspended contract talks until after the playoffs.

I never knew how important a good coach was until we got Scotty. Its was proven with an exclamation point after Scotty retired when we witnessed the disaster of Dave Lewis, I hated him! Now we are back on track and Babs is a big reason and I hope he stays put here where he belongs!

WHAT???

BABCOCK IS GOING TO OTTAWA????

WTF!!!!!

:shocking:

This is one of those rumours that usually start this way:

Interviewer: You're looking for a new coach now. How about Mike Babcock?

Ottawa's GM: Yeah. Why not?

The rumour's already alive before anyone asks Babcock about it. I don't even think anyone took it seriously enough to ask the coach about it, as this rumour was given birth by journalists who needed something to write about.
