I assume you are talking about Detroit. lol

And not to sound cliche, but the Hockeytown Cafe and Cheli's Chili have amazing food. And clearly a great hockey atmosphere. I would highly recommend either one.

Ya you can park at Greektown casino, and get your parking validated there and just go acorss the street to Pizza Papalis' on Monroe st. The people mover at the casino will take you right to the Joe. Plus there is a good bakery right next to the Pizza place, called Astoria.

chelis is good. every time I go to hockeytown I get either crappy service or bad food

chelis has amazing chili cheese fries...and its all at an awesome price.

Agreed...Hockeytown is good atmosphere for a drink before and after the game but the food is way overpriced for the quality. Cheli's tends to get packed pretty early sometimes so get there with plenty of time to spare.

You could also eat down in Greektown and walk over to the Old Sheleleh and take the craziest shuttle you'll ever experience.

Cobo Joe's, on Congress. Park right next door in the parking garage. Cobo Joe's is always packed with Wings fans prior to games. Food is "bar menu" food, but it is good for a pre-game meal. They will have a Preds jersey taped to the floor at the front door, so don't forget to wipe your feet. :) It is a 5 minute walk to the Joe from there. Much easier than waiting for a shuttle bus to go back there for a beer after the game. GO WINGS!!! Have fun~

I disagree. Last time I went the service was great and the pizza was amazing.

I'm partial to Cobo Joe's, which happens to be one of the closest restaurants to the Joe and tons of parking adjacent to it.

It's the perfect hockey bar. Everyone there will be a hockey fan, they plan non-stop videos of hockey fights on all the TVs, the food is good (onion rings are the best, pizzas, burgers are good too) and they place the opposing team's jersey in front of the door for everyone to walk on!

'Amazing" I wouldn't go that far, but it's decent, good atmosphere and so on.

Kind of hard to screw up pizza...

If you want better, cheaper pizza try Niki's. Plus its right across the street from the Bricktown people mover station.

The Detroiter Bar and Grill is my spot.

ok this is not a commercial and i have no affiliation with the establishment...but-Great food-nothing fancy, great service, and they are very quick to get you your food/drink. Nothing but Wings fans getting pumped for the game. Located right by Greektown Casino (intersection of Fort and Beaubien-- 655 N Beaubien...i think?). Three different parking lots (fairly priced too). Easy to get in....most importantly, easy to get out after the game. They have a free shuttle to the Joe that leaves every 15 minutes. Bonus...they provide plastic cups to take your beverage with you on the shuttle. "Lets Go Red Wings" chants usually going for the entire ride to the Joe. Shuttle takes your right to the base of the South entrance steps of the Joe, and picks you up near same drop off place.

I will add that, although I see children in there before every game, this might not be the best spot if you have smaller children with you as it is a very bustling place before games and probably not the best spot for children to be 'children".

Go Wings!!!!

I say for good luck you should pull your #32 Tim Cheveldae outta the closet (if ya got 1), & wear it with pride ;)

nah, no timmy for me... i have a clark one somewhere but its been a bit messed up due to wearing it for pickup games and such.

If i could find my old #28 Drake jersey... i would so wear that one!!! hehe
