LETS GO CAPS I like the Caps, but yet again, it's kind of pathetic that that division makes third seed, considering they wouldn't even make the playoffs at all if not for the division leader automatically making it in. Oh ok right, its pathetic because the worst team in the league after thanksgiving has gone on a an incredible run after the coaching change, and has won 10 of their past eleven, a stretch the wings couldn't even achieve. Exactly what he said, don't bring that weak division bs into the argument, tt has no base. The caps fully deserve to be where they are. I just wish they finished 8th so they could play Pittsburgh. Yak19 303 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 (edited) That division is bad but if u think about it the Caps are trying to knock off another divisional team to get that spot so its not like they are taking it from a team with more points, lets say the division winners werent given the top 3 seeds then the Caps would still be trying to knock Carolina from the 8th seed. The Caps would still be in the playoffs if they win tonight and weren't the division leader. Not to mention, the Caps have been a top team since the coaching change. Same here, I'm wondering if he's going to be like most Russian players and disappear come crunch time or will we see the same guy that loves to hit people and score lots of goals. Time will tell. Time will tell. Ovechkin has already shown that he has more passion than any Russian to ever play the game in his regular season play, I can't imagine him disappearing. If he knows what it's worth and knows it's the reason why he's in the NHL, he will outperform anyone. I really want the Caps to do good, they have a team you can't not like. One really ought to stayaway from overbroad ethnic stereotypes. Did Vladdy not play with passion? Did Pavel Bure not carry a good but not great Canucks team all the way to the finals in 1994? Just how many Russian hockey greats do you know, to compare Ovechkin to? Have you ever seen Alexandr Ragulin, Boris Mikhailov, Valery Kharlamov, Vsevolod Bobrov, Veniamin Aleksandrov, Vyacheslav Starshinov, or Sergei Makarov in their primes? What would you think if I write something like "Ovechkin has already shown that he has more passion than any North American to ever play the game"? OV is a great player, let's enjoy watching him and not put down all the other great players of the past and present. OV would be the first one to tell you this.
