sticknmove 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 If they don't sign Hossa in the off-season I can't wait for Flip to be a 100+ point guy. Flip is good, no question, but come on. Does everyone still think Holland is the best GM in the league right now? Like people have said, he's a good gm, but not that good. I think he's undoubtedly good, but the best... Not a chance
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 It's not official that the Wings didn't do anything right?
Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 See heres the thing everyone - Pitt was rumored to get Hossa about 30/40 min before it was "officially" reported. With that said, in my mind, Kenny probably knew around that time what was going down, backed out, and went after Stuart. I've got a feeling we'll see something saying the Wings made a deal, mainly b/c they had to act late after Hossa was delt.
Izzy24 44 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Not. A. Chance. Flashback to 2007: "cup to San Jose" (after Guerin deal) oh wait what happened? The Pens gave up too much no matter how you do it. I just thought it was a funny thing to say, I wasn't serious.
redwings1914 18 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 In the regular season. We're always hot in the regular season. Did Bertuzzi really do ANYTHING in the playoffs last year....?
StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Detroit is easily the biggest loser at the deadline The Habs were going to get a "difference maker" and all they did was trade Huet away. So no I would go with the Habs and maybe the Sens ahead of the Wings. And the Wings will be ok when they get healthy.
JayUp88 1 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Stop crying, would you want something like cross again. We have a good team. Last time I checked we were winging the west. and thats even with all of out D out.

kylee 727 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 i dunno. if the Wings dont do anything im not going to go crazy like some of you are. the Ducks did get better than last year yes they added Schneider and Bertuzzi and gave up Dustin Penner. consider this: the Wings were pretty much neck and neck with the Ducks last year and they got some VERY generous bounces in that playoff series (the pass across crease that hit Lidstrom's stick and went in, Lilja coughing up the puck in OT). im not gonna freak out, i think the Wings can definitely still hang with, and win a series against the Ducks. its just that im a bit concerned right now because the secondary scoring has been MIA the last few weeks. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Well, at least Anaheim didn't get Hossa. Yeah, but they got Selanne and Niedermayer. They win.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Anaheim standing pat makes sense, Detroit standing pat just is puzzling.... Didn't we pass on signing folks to have the cap room for today?

Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Yeah, cause that's realistic, in the playoffs no less. All I'm saying is that even marginal D and goaltending can be carried by FAR SUPERIOR offense. The Pens have the best O in the league as of now. 1st line PP Hossa-Crosby-Malkin
StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 I just thought it was a funny thing to say, I wasn't serious. Sorry I couldn't tell from that. Most people thought SJ was the team to beat last year. So many people forget paper talent is different than what you do. And it's funny tsn is talking about Guerin right now.
