The Penguins being consistently injured has many factors invloved that don't include the S & C Coach. Also, the overall management of the Penguins organization is nothing like the Red Wings' brass so I'm sure our new guy will do just fine.

No, I agree with the sentence. Also, it's almost guaranteed that he'll lose his job and never play in the NHL again. Hopefully he uses his time in counseling to better himself.

Does anyone think that Babcock leaving made us more attractive to free agents? I know he's a widely respected coach for which many players would like to play. Just curious if the coaching change could be seen as a positive for players.

Not bad. Would have preferred 2 years instead of 3 but I'll take it. Let's hope he can stay healthy and not become another Weiss.

Unless he really did something horrible to justify termination of his contract then this just makes the Kings look bad. Trying to screw a player out of money to save more cap space? This is another reason why I'm not a fan of the cap in the first place.

Not a fan of the black on the sweaters themselves. It makes them look like football jerseys. It's always nice to remember how lucky I am to be a fan of a historical team that has made very few changes to their jersey over the decades.

Holland is not going to offer sheet anyone. It's just bad business. All it would do having the cap that high is allow teams like Chicago to hold on to their players. Also, it would actually decrease our chances of landing a top FA.

I like the combination of NHL experience and including another coach who helped develop the Griffins. Also, Chelios working with the defensemen during practice is a great idea.

I know we're no longer known as being a physically "tough" team but I never want to see Bongos on this team. I feel like his presence would inspire the rest of the guys to stop hitting all together.

Let's just bring up Callahan. He's big, hits and can score. All that we could want in a 4th liner and he's already in our system.

Still hate their fans, especially the ones who jumped on board after the 2nd Cup, but there's no denying that team was built to continually compete for Cups. Time for the rest of the league (especially the Wings) to step up and make sure they don't win a 4th.

Arizona would likely want more than that considering they're almost guaranteed to have a future top D pairing of OEL - Hanifin. That's potentially one of the best in the league.

Man... give it a rest already. Eichel is just confident in himself and McDavid's been touted as the next Crosby for a few years now so of course he doesn't have to talk himself up as much. I'm more interested in what the Wings will do seeing as how the first 4-5 picks are pretty much already set.

I thought the cap was supposed to create parity for the league? Still the same teams every year that make it this far; they just do it with their high draft picks from tanking for years. Even several years ago I would still watch most of the playoffs after the Wings were eliminated because it was still entertaining for me. Now though? Haven't watched a game since our Game 7 against the Bolts. The product that the NHL trots out there every year is getting worse and worse. I figure the only way to send a message is to not give them any money and not watch the games.

Definitely should not apply to any coach not currently serving any function for a team. What's to stop a team from hiring a guy long term just to inevitably get a draft pick out of it?

I like him as well. I think Holland will go with the "take the best player available" approach but if he is able to trade down AND get Svechnikov and Meloche then I'd consider that a great draft.
