Relax, man. I was out of town that night and wasn't able to watch the Ottawa game. From what I heard/read, it sounded awful. This one was very poor as well. No need nitpick on which game was worse, I never claimed one was over the other.

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents about the officiating. I thought it was the worst of the year so far. The Devils got hosed far too many times and the icing on the cake was the final call that resulted in a goal for the Wings. Nice to get the win, not nice to get it that way.

To me, whether he's injured on the play or not is irrelevant. It was a dirty, dirty hit that shouldn't be celebrated from the moment it took place. Just like when Lemuiex destroyed Draper and the fan base started calling him the "Draperizer". Pathetic. ....And make no mistake, I love Kronwall, but some of his hits are borderline. I've never seen someone push the envelope as much as he does and yet 99.9% of his hits are clean.

Typically, I would agree with this, but not when the other two players are Z and Dats. The biggest help the third linemate can give them is getting to the net and staying out of the f*cking way. Keeping a player or two away from these guys and screening the goalie is all those two need to put the puck in the net. Z and Dats' linemate solely needs to be hard to move and be able to make a redirect.

No, I mean I was able to watch the FS-Anaheim channel 600'something during the game but it the game wasn't one the normal 770 Center Ice Channels. I've never been able to watch the games on the actual "FS" channel for any team, just the 769-785 channels.

Penalties aside, the game was solid. The team as a whole seemed to control the play at will for most of the night. The biggest question mark I have is still the defense, but I was very satisfied last night. Should've been a shutout if not for Howard waiting too long to move the puck behind is own net (not on the defense). Sidenote: Pierre just freaks me out every time I see/hear him. He never ceases to amaze me with the scary sh*t that comes out of his mouth. He's obviously given himself a bad rep but he just throws logs on the fire (I.E. saying the space between the teams was "intimate"). Pierre, if you're known for being a f*cking weirdo, wouldn't you try to dial it down a bit?

I've been auto-subscribed for Center Ice ever since the year after I switched to DirecTV (about 5 years ago) and for some reason or another the CI channels are coming up blank (as in, I can't watch them). Note: my account says I'm already subscribed to CI. After the Wings game last night, I was able to switch to the FS feed of an out-of-market game which I've never been able to do before. Is this perhaps due to the "free" viewing from Oct. 1-19? Does anybody else have this issue? I just want to ensure that tomorrow night I'm able to watch the Wings.

Correct. When they sold the turf it was 100% grass and it was sold in a sealed box with the grass/dirt chunk inside plastic. It was essentially just like when you buy sod for a new yard but smaller....roughly 6" wide by 8" long. Some people just kept it preserved in the box while others (like us) planted it in their yards so we had official Lambeau Field grass growing in it. It's a great conversation piece. Anyway, now the Packers (like most NFL teams) have the 50-50 Mix of grass and artificial turf grass. The mixed artificial turf grass doesn't become a mess during rain/snow games like the old 100% grass fields did.

The Packers sold turf from Lambeau and it was huge in Green Bay. Nothing wrong with owning a piece of history and it doesn't make the Packers "not a real team".

EXACTLY (and pretty much my point too)! ....and yes, I agree Weiss stats as a whole should go up. His points scored may or may not suffer due to the talent up and down the lineup compared to FLA, but I agree.

The Wings still finished 7th in the conference, yet again made the playoffs and the Panthers were cellar-dwellars with garbage from front to back. The comparison is not legit, IMHO.

I know you weren't asking me this, but how is that different than any other stat if he was on a poor team? His point scoring along with most other stats will go down playing on garbage clubs. It's no more a "horrible stat" than anything other....its relative.
