Best thing about round 2, playing an AMERICAN team.

Actually, it's Canadiens. How is the fact that a Canadian franchise has not won a Cup since '93 relevant? Your quip about the Jays? Remember that you're dealing with Torontonians here. -
They were positively orgasmic in '04 when it became apparent the Sharks would play Calgary. Karma can nip you in the butt.

Up here, if you don't have a jersey when you're off to the game, well, damnit, you pull out the Santa suit or your wife's filmy red negligee. -

Hmmmmm. Does anyone else find it ironic that someone from the "Heartland of Hockey" (Oilergurl) would have a problem with "Hockeytown USA?" -

Ahem. As a Canadian, and a Flames fan since 1980, let me state this. Most die-hard Canadian hockey fans don't "root" per se for other Canadian teams. You think I'd pull for Edmonton? In 1987, I trembled with rage when Ron Hextall whiffed on Glenn Anderson's long shot to snuff Philly's comeback from a 3-1 series deficit. (I've always had a soft spot for the Flyers because in their heyday they iced lots of western Canadian squads. Plus, they're the last all-Canadian team to win the Cup!! ) You guys, I'm sure, have an idea how insufferable Leaf fans are. I'd root for Montreal if they were in it, and I'll keep an eye on Ottawa. Vancouver can choke on its own vomit. As for bias in the commentating, I thought Drew Remenda, if anything, favored the Wings. There are scads of Detroit fans in Canada, particularly down east, and I thought he was catering to them. -
What's the story on this bird? I can't tell if it's a crow or a starling.

Here's a vintage example: Once Al MacInnis cranked one from center that hit Mike Liut in the face and bounced into the net. Liut broke his nose, and the goal counted. This is, oh, maybe mid-eighties.

The goal would've counted. David Moss is going to be a stud in a year or so.

Somewhere, a kindergarten teacher is crying.

Congratulations, Wings and their fans.

Lidstrom gambled and lost on the Iginla goal. Ninety-five times out of a hundred he makes that play.
