Yup...Unless something falls into his lap that won't require much in return this will be our opening night roster. The only thing I can think of is a late summer move where some clubs might have to shed some salary to become cap compliant.

Will the NHL attempt to 'persuade' GMs not to do so? Would Bettman/BoG want to deal with the likely PR headache? While I agree with these guys having every right to resume their careers - just not sure how the public will accept these guys.

Hamilton age 32 with 3 yrs at $9 Rust age 33 with 3yrs at $5.125 I would not mind them being added to our roster, but they're at the end of their respective careers (Hamilton often injured) and carry a big cap hit. Yzerman should send NJ/Pitt draft picks, a prospect/s, player/s who won't likely be a Red Wing much longer ie Berggren....Doing both clubs a favor taking on their aging vets.

I'd send them Berggren or Rasmountain if they wanted a roster player in return...Looks like Rossi's production is trending upwards.
