He wouldnt of played pro to this point if it werent for covid. Making a u20 team as a 20yo isnt exactly a big feat. No chance he plays a game with the Wings this season.

Theres nothing apparent about a fluff article written by a Red Wings beat writer. Sebrango likely wont play in the NHL and def wont ever crack the top6 on a contending team. He sucks offensively and is ok defensively not a very good player at the AHL level let alone NHL.

I disagree. The only 1 of 5 dmen I mentioned that is behind Sebrango is Buium imo. Edvinsson Johansson Wallinder and McIsaac are all ahead in terms of ceiling and NHL readiness imo.

Sebrango sucks. If everything goes right for him hes a 6/7D. Hes not in the same mix as Johansson and def not right behind Edvinsson. Sebrangos still toward the bottom of our LD depth chart behind Edvinsson Johansson Wallinder Buium McIsaac imo.

I agree with this and think he will accomplish the things you mentioned but like you Id just like another RW player to watch next month in the wjc. I think that tournament is a big stepping stone for a lot of young players.

No doubt he can hang with the big boys hes proven that but Id like to see if he could dominated his age group. I think that could be a big boost in confidence going into another SHL season and prove to himself and the doubters that like SY said his offensive game is underrated.

No still woulda liked to see what he could do against the best of his age group. Wonder what his reason would be for not going?

Kasper is not playing in the wjc.

Helm was never worth $3.85m but was worth half of that or more imo. Helm at $2.25m through his prime yrs woulda been a great contract imo.

Im comparing Kaspers overall game to Larkins where your just zoning in on skating. Im not saying Kaspers as good a skater as Larkin but hes a very fluid skater and just 18yo and the rest of his game is similar to Larks in a lot of ways. The reason Larkin exceeded expectations draft profile and draft slot is because of his work ethic and tenacity. Imo Kasper will do the same.

It doesnt offend me I just find it funny when people act as if they personally scout these players. You worry about his offensive potential? Based on what? the athletic articles/rankings? Craig Button? I dont know bout you but I put more stock in SY rather then those schlubs. You clearly dont remember Larkins scouting profile in his draft year. I think Larks may be one of the best comps for Kasper out there. MK has a much higher ceiling then JV.

SY isnt gonna trade away pieces at the deadline if were still in the race. Imagine the message that sends to the rest of the team.

Ya I think your good on value if maybe a little high. I dont expect Erne or Oesterle to play much this season at least they shouldnt imo. Id trade 4 of 5 not Maatta for that return today and I dont think wed be any worse off. I agree with this.

I dont disagree on Maatta but SY clearly values stay at home defensive dmen and he wouldnt of traded Staal if we were in a playoff race either. This is a much improved team imo with the additions and subtractions SY made this offseason. I expect Ed to make the team out of camp and have a big impact Zadina to fit nicely on L3 and Ras and Veleno to play depth roles in the bottom 6. Copp and Perron are going to bolster our top 6 and allow the aforementioned 3 to fit better in there roles. Chiarot and Maatta are big upgrades DK and Leddy imo.

SY will stand pat at the TDL with this team sitting pretty in a WC spot.

I side with Yzerman saying that Kasper has underrated skill the same thing he said about Seider after all the pundits questioned his offensive skill. Kasper is a great skater with elite hockey iq and compete all things Yzerman covets. Marco will be elite just like Moritz.

CGY wont want Bertuzzi in any package for Tkachuk. Bert on any Canadian team wouldnt work as he would only be able to play roughly 60% of the games. If Berts part of the package it would have to be a 3way trade.

Am I the only one who has no interest in Tkachuk? We dont need to make the same mistakes the Leafs made signing a big name player to a massive contract before we lock up our core. The Leafs overpaid Tavares in free agency increasing the demands from Matthews Marner and co. Lets get Larkin Raymond Seider extended longterm before we go after big fish in free agency/ trade. Right now SY should be able to resign Larkin to 8x$8M. If he trades for Tkachuk and has to sign him for $9M minimum qualifying offer Larkin will want more. If Larkin and Tkachuk are making $9M Seider and Raymond will want more. Its a ripple effect and all a sudden were constructed the same way as the Leafs lack depth because our top guys are making to much. Also if anyone thinks were getting Tkachuk for anything less then one of our top picks from the past 4 drafts plus other assets your kidding yourself.
