? What does this mean?
-
I don't really blame Howie for wanting to move on. This team is a joke and he wants a chance to win a cup before he can't play anymore. This will be the first of many players who will probably walk away when Yzerman offers a new contract. It's a shame, but that's the sad reality. I will be watching whatever contender he decides to move on to. Best of luck Jim Jam.

Rossi had that explosion because he's one of the most gifted, smartest, and hardest working players in the league. You can't say the same for Byfield. The coaches don't even say this. Your fabled explosion is a nice story - but that's all it is - a story.

It's true. Seattle is 89% white and probably 10% Asian-American. And yet despite living in this ivory tower (har har) away from these problems we still recognize the systemic oppression of people of color. You should try it. Um sweetie... who hurt you? I just spent three hours trying to digest this and this whole message still gets a big YIKES from me. Let's unpack this: It's almost as if maybe... just maybe... your own problematic and toxic views on people of color are the real problem here. Let that sink in. You talk as if you know the troubles and trials that people of color unfairly face. You don't. Ever stop and wonder why the homicide rate in black communities is so much worse than in white ones? Because of years and years of systemic oppression and racism. And we have a long way to go before the white stranglehold on black communities are undone and black economies can flourish. When white cops, oppressors, and colonizers, are removed then these communities will flourish. I went to college too ya see. Sociology 201. Sweet summer child, you are why normal people like me are losing faith in humanity. It's called being a decent human being, you should try it sometime soon. Why do you think black folks can't afford to play hockey, but white folks can?

Byfield isnt that good. But he has a big frame and raw athleticism. Everyone is hoping he will grow into that. Big risk if you ask me. Id be more comfortable taking Rossi or Stutzle at 2nd overall.
-
Rossi seems to have more going for him than Perfetti. They both dominate in smarts, playmaking, and shootouts (although Rossi gets a higher percentage of coaches voting). But Perfetti only takes the advantage in stick handling... while Rossi is one of the best penalty killers, defensive forwards, and faceoff men unlike Perfetti. Id also personally give Rossi the advantage on hustle. His hustle is insane. Its like comparing Zberg (Rossi) to Tatar (Perfetti). Tatar is great but hell never be Zberg great.

2016: five more seasons and we'll be back to contention. 2020: five more seasons and we'll be back to contention. 2024: Veleno is our Johnathan Toews. Zadina is our Kane. Seider is our Keith and Mcisaac is our Seabrook. We have the cup again. Reality 2024: Veleno is Val Filppula. Zadina is Hudler. Mcisaac is Bad Stuart. When did u wake up n realize this team is 10 years from contention? Did u talk to other fans and finally realize no one gives a s*** about larkin and zadina? Did u finally take the tank pill and realize blashill is a placeholder? That yzerman has no intention of wnning the cup with any of these players? Are u still pretending mantha matters? I look forward to a productive season with u all.
-
Glad someone finally said it
-
That would be insane return for anyone on this team. Its dumb that u even have to say this.
-
How TF does NHL have a higher percentage of "other" than MLB? I dont even trust this data. MLB is dominated by latinos and dominicans and i expect them to dominate this category. But hockey - a sport played in privledged northern countries - has more other viewers? Highly doubt. And honestly black viewing of the NHL is only 6% lower than the NFL? Please. Every black guy i know can tell you stafford's rushing stats off the top of their head. None of them ever even heard of steve yzerman though. BS stats or lying pollsters or pollers.
-
Perfetti would be a big mistake. Many better players will be on the board. Really hoping Yzerman isnt giving this kid the character exception bull s***. This is too important of a pick for that.
-
That is why u fail - yoda All this tells me is u both dont understand how good seider is defensively yet. You'll see. Multi norris.
-
What are u on about? Noel Accari and Brandon Tanev are getting votes. Both great defensive players but not offensive ones. Ur "well rounded" theory is straight made up head movie bungus. Now that folks more qualified than u and me weigh in the award is BS? Lol. Typical. Glendening is by far a better defensive forward than Larkin. Thats why hes valuable. Ive warned u all that this "but larkin is focusing on D" is crutch leaning BS all season. Dont hate the messanger. Take off ur rosey glasses already.
-
Mock my endorsement of seider. I encourage it. I said he was the best Dman going into that draft. I not only still believe that, but i now believe hes the best dman not named miro heiskanen. This is a multi norris winner thru and thru. U should be as excited as i. This is the first and only real building block to a future powerhouse we have. Our other prospects are garbage in comparison. Seiders gap control, positioning, ability to read the play, and ability to take over the game is out of control. This is the closest we have to a lidstrom. We all should be very excited. This is a 40 pt all situations dman who can eat 30 minutes a night. A stallion. Get ur lotion and ur tissues ready u degenerate.
-
Its really not funny. Our best player is a 60 pt center who's not on the radar defensively. Thats sad. U should have a problem with that. Especially when every fan boys excuse for him is that "hes elite defensivly". Hes not. Im telling u now. Ur the fans that enabled the dead wings. U accept mediocrity. I dont. This is bull s***. Im not happy that our best player is a 2C on another team. I demand better.
-
Anyone have stats on our prospects that are overseas on loans? I can't seem to find any stats to see how they are performing on these loan stints. Would be interesting to know.
-
> "I wouldn't hate if we picked Drysdale, because he would immediately become our top prospect" Last I checked the draft is before the start of next season. Both are still prospects... dumb dumb.
-
Immediately become our top prospect? U really have clue how good Seider is do you? Ur takes are bad and sad.
-
Mantha isnt that good. Just a heads up.
-
Well Boro has only ever signed 2 and 3 year deals and his last cap hit was $1.2. He also wore the A for Ottawa. Could be a nice servicable guy for us at little cost while the tank continues. IDK. *laughs in Babcock* aka *frowns sternly*
-
Crosby and Malkin actually score points tho
-
Nothing that's going to move the needle, but could be a solid 18 min a night PK Dman with grit on the left side for cheap. A replacement for Ericsson & Daley that can protect the rooks.
-
That's right. Your bonafide 1C glorious leader and "defensive stud" Dylan Larkin got exactly zero votes for the Selke. When do we finally admit to ourselves that this kid isn't a top offensive or defensive centers and a new 1C needs to be put on top of him? Now? 3 more years of average play? 5?
