None of the goalies in the system are close to ready and they wouldn't find anyone better in free agency, and any free agent would probably cost more. Unless your goal is to go with garbage in net so they lose 60 games, this is a no brainer

Thanks. Haven't watched much hockey this year, too busy with other stuff to watch a team that's going to lose more often than not for 82 games. I like what I've seen from the younger guys though. Need more of them in the lineup, especially on D.

1) I've said that in response to every "OMG THEY LET THE CAPTAIN GO AND LOOK WHAT HE'S DOING IN TB" post. Ditto for Nill. 2) Recognizing the need for a new coach and not being a Blashill fan boy his first year are not mutually exclusive. Certain coaches are good at certain things. Babcock in Detroit had some bad habits overusing certain players. Now he's in Toronto with the best 1-2 punch a center since Crosby and Malkin were in their primes. He's a good coach, but he's no Bowman or Blake. I thought Blashill should have had a chance, and when the team under performed his first year, I would have asked him what he was changing year 2 and if he didn't have a good answer he would have been gone. Apparently the answer was "work hard, pay a 200 foot game, hard on the puck, heavy bodies." It didn't work year 1, it's not working now.

I've always said Yzerman isn't a miracle worker and benefited a lot from the team he inherited. That being said, Holland has been s*** for a few years now. Something needs to be changed, and not just promotions from within. Whether it's giving Yzerman a shot, assuming he wants it, or finding some young, smart exec looking for his first GM experience, IDGAF.

#LoseForTheBestChanceAtHughes Seriously, I'm resigned to seeing Blashill's "duh... you can't outsmart me, I'm a moron" post game interviews, terrible line combinations, and complete inability to make proper in game adjustments. Ditto for Holland's "we like our team a few breaks here and there and we can be competitive" cliches. All I want from this season is to get as many young guys playing time as possible and see them take some steps forward while Helm, Abdelkader, and Co. drag the team down.

Half the problems are system related and non existent in game adjustments by Blashill. Same as every year he's been coach Holland doesn't pull that, it's one of the few things I still like about him. And he doesn't have to bench Abdelkader, just play him on a checking line

Haven't won, but I'd rather see them losing with the young guys who can get better than the old guys who will just decline. Too bad 3 of the 4 young D will get sent back to GR as vets get healthy.

IDK about the other 2, but I've been busy with real life s*** and haven't ahd a lot of time to go on the internet. Holland is still a putz. F--k Sack Smith. He isn't worth what he was paid, if they can get some relief from waiving him, do it. I'd still tell Ericsson either "retire" and play in Sweden or ride the bus in Toledo. He's ineffective and scared of getting hurt. I wouldn't have signed Green or Vanek. I would have signed a couple of fringe players to minimum wage, and if a kid came close to being as good, the kid wins the spot. This is a business. What you did 3 years ago is meaningless.

Yzerman as GM in Detroit will depend on 2 things. Does he want to be a GM? What he said in his presser seems like he doesn't. Does Holland stick around as GM in Detroit? Who knows here. I also saw somewhere TB wanted him to sign an extension and he didn't want to.

Most people I know wouldn't GAF All but one of them who showed up to the school board meetings where they were discussing the name change. The push came from an outside group.

Belding had to drop Redskins because of pressure from a group outside the community. The Native Americans in town loved the name. Now they're the Black Knights. No way a liberal hotbed like Seattle is going to name the team anything remotely offensive. It's going to be bland AF.
