uh mule? i vote franzen for the A
-
F yeah we woulda won. did u see the 2002 roster?

Boston does not at all look like a championship team. they got LUCKEEEEEEEE. they basically finished the job chicago started on VAN. VAN prolly shoulda won the cup, they looked like the team to beat all season...even thou there in the NW division. the sedins and loungo just couldnt handle it. very mentally weak team. but look who stood out on VAN, bieksa and kesler. the two roughest players on that team. the playoffs are all about playin the body. take away the first 2 games of the sharks series and we coulda seen the wings win a cup this year.

i think ozzie should make the HOF but he'll barely make it. he certainly wont make it to the rafters. the next numbers in the rafters will be 5, 13, and 40.

holland has a level of patience and foresight that most of us will never possess. hes a great gm. that being said, with such a great franchise (arguably the best sports franchise in history) your going to get fans who freak out at everything. there are some of us out here who believe it would be realistic that the wings win the cup every year. and i mean every year lol. so deal with it. i do believe i can run the red wings organization better than holland, i think i can coach better than babs too....i also think that zetterberg and i would be best friends if he would ever answer my emails. and i believe that ericssons contract is crappy, and that we shoulda won the cup every year since 87. hows that for logical most every argument has some valid points.

i think grit and toughness plays a small role. in the playoffs players go hard. lately i think teams that like to bang have been doing better in the playoffs than softer, often more skilled, teams. there are some exceptions but physicallity to wear down other teams and not get worn down urself has always played a role in playoff hockey.
-
so what? thats why were all in armchairs and not hollands chair. people will have opposing opinions on players, its a forum.

hey i can talk all i want, unrealistic or not. i pay to watch this team play, when i go to games and on tv. i had to upgrade my cable to get all the games on tv! and with all the jerseys and crap i buy lol. the wings r a business and i have been an extremely loyal customer. god knos how many years of my life ive spent obsessing about the wings and hockey. anyway what im saying is that DRW's fans are crazy and we expect alot. some of us of have givin large portions of our lives to this team. i mean some hockey teams fan sites dont explode when (insert players name here) loses a battle for the puck. im proud of how crazy loyal and obsessed with the wings ppl are here. ill say the craziest thing about any random dream trade idea just to talk about the wings somemore. and i will freak out when the tiniest thing i dont like or understand happens. because i love the wings. rock on DRW's fans

lol stupidest article ive ever read. it doesnt even deserve its own thread. this guy is more of a whiner than the fans hes calling whiners lol

Ovi or Dats? possibly Kovy? I think that pavel is clearly the best current russian player, and should be up there with soviet greats. yet the argument comes down to dats v. ovy. 2 different styles of play and different sets of skills though. ovi obviously makes more and scores more goals....but dats brings alot to the table 2. if dats had ovis size and muscle i think this would be a no brainer.
-
whooooooooaaaaaaa 12 dogs a game? if he stays healthy thats almost 1000 dogs a season!!!! i kno murph is obviously still decent but we dont overpay players here in detroit...this isnt columbus. let em walk
-
they both bring different intangibles....datsyuk has things like crazy dekes that you can record on stats....and ovechkin plays a more intimidating hardnose style that you cant account for in stats
-
yeah i guess i shouldnt have called it "defensive" but 241 hits is alot of hits! especially compared to Z and Dats...thats gotta be a plus in ovi's department
-
i think ovi brings some other defensive skills besides takeaways. the guy can hit pretty good, unlike dats, and id like to see his blocked shots...have no idea if theyre better than Z, crybaby, or dats
-
if we push and dont land him, we'll still have that money to make a run for suter next year. lol nashville would be so s***ty without weber
-
i will always hate colorado, if only for nostalgia, but they really arnt the same team. they're terrible now and i think hejduks the only one left really. i wont miss playing them. i will miss playing chicago thou. god i hate that city and that team. i mean detroit and chicago have met more than any other team in the league! that will end if we move east. but frankly we belong in the east, if only chicago could move with us....

hemsky is a fantastic speed winger. would be a sweet line no doubt, but id rather see a more pure sniper on that line. someone who all they do is get open and bomb rockets. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=569041&navid=mod-rr-headlines ovi and dats made the list lol naturally
-
cory's not ready. idk about connor.
-
markov over ovi?????
-
i think that was mainly the result of boudreau trying to make his team something its not....defensive
-
yes lol. but it seems very easy to argue that ovi is better. ovi won the award the last 5 yrs in a row!
-
Finally these 2 leagues can come together and put their differences aside. so happy! what a great accomplishment! i never thought id live to see the iron curtain between the NHL and the KHL come down. good work everyone. truly a glorious day.

So we haven't exactly replaced the offensive ability rafalski had, but we've certainly added some toughness to the blue line. You can count on commodore and exelby (when hes not in GR) to land some bigggg hits and drop the gloves, and whites no push over. Question is, will this added toughness make a difference? will the rest of the team play better? will other teams fear us physically? maybe teach some other players to use their size? (thinking of E lol)

its not about the "fight-jizz factor". i like the fact that he averages 4 fights a year. if he had more it would mean hes probably an agitator. we dont need an agitator...we need a big man looming behind pavs and hank. he doesnt pick fights, but hes always there just in case you need em. makes other players feel safer. we obviously need guys who do more than 'just fight', and he fills other rolls, case and point below VVVVVV
