I've never been so nervous for a sporting event! But I'm also extremely excited!!! GO WINGS!!! Bring the Cup back to Detroit!!!!
-
So my friends and I went to a bar in Hermosa Beach for game 6 that was recommended as a good hockey bar, and it turned out to be a Pittsburgh bar, so we need to find an awesome Detroit friendly bar for game 7. We're thinking of going out in the Long beach area since a lot of my friends live out that way. I know there are UM/MSU bars throughout SoCal, but don't know of any specifically, maybe they'd be good places to watch from. Can anyone help???

I want Hossa to score the OT cup winning goal!! How fitting and humiliating would it be for him to end the series and win the cup for the Wings after the Pens publicly called him out for leaving pitt? It'd be awesome!

Me and 4-5 friends will be at Shark's Cove in Hermosa Beach.
-
I think some friends and I will be going to Shark's Cove in Hermosa Beach. The owner is a big hockey fan so we might have a better chance of holding off the Lakers fans and it's a lot closer to my house than hollywood.

Yea, I agree, and I live in LA where everyone loves the Lakers. I'm gonna be fighting my way for a TV at a sports bar on tuesday as the Gaykers play too.
-
Probably like 3-6 friends and I will be looking for a good place to watch game 6 in the South Bay area. Any other LAers have any suggestions? The stupid Lakers play that night as well too so we'll have to fight for a TV wherever we go I'm sure. We'd love to come party it up with more Wings fans for game 6!

I'm gonna get a new one this summer as well once I get a better idea of who will be staying and leaving. I'm thinking Franzen or Cleary right now though.

A buddy of mine in Minnesota was compaining to me today about how he couldn't understand how a bunch of "dinosaurs" could be so dominant every year (the classic mindset that the Wings are SO old, and yada yada ya...) so I decided to do a little math. With the lineup we had on the ice tonite the wings average age is just 29.45! In comparison, the Penguins with all their "young superstars" are just 1 year younger at 28.45, so clearly the Wings are a much more youthful team than the rest of the country would be led to believe. Then I figured our 4 injured regulars in and our average age went up to 30.20, but still that's really not old at all, especially in comparison to some years past. I feel like the Wings will get even younger next year and still be a supremely talented (and youthful) team!
-
Next year, with some luck, we'll have some combination of Helm, Leino, Abdelkader, Ericsson, and Howard up on the A squad full time, so we could get considerably younger next year!
-
Yea, aside from him, we don't even have a single player over 40, Lids just turned 39 and Draper 38 though. Hell, of our normal 20 man roster, only 6 players are over 35, so I mean yea, Cheli figures in, but rarely plays. If you look at our regularly skating roster, we're MUCH younger than the rest of the country would like to believe.
-
I feel a lot worse for Lils. Has a career season offensively and defensively and can't even make it into a single playoff game.

I think Bab's choice to play the 4th line so much yesterday was great. Firstly, they played great so it was great yesterday, but also, the top 3 lines will be a lot fresher than Pitsburgh's top 3 lines today! Go Wings!!!

Just woke up and first thing I thought to do was log on and post about the WINGGGGSSSSS!! Ozzy's GAA is down to 2.00 and his Save % is at .929. That smells like a Conn Smythe performance to me!
-
What a game! 4th line was great tonite! Here's for a game 2 win! Let's go WINGS!!!!
-
We will for this year if Crosby will for last year. To this day he's not given Detroit an ounce of credit for beating them in the finals.
-
Kind of strange considering he still considers Detroit to be his home. One his Ferraris (A metallic black 430 Scuderia with red stripes and gold wheels) is being kept for him at Cauley Ferrari.

Darth Kader???

Mom and I are leaving for JLA in like 15 minutes!!! Can't waiiiit!!!
-
I'm bummed, I bought my mom tickets for game 5, just her and I are going, and it was suppossed to be an epic Mother's Day surprise, but somehow everyone already knew... Game will still be amaaaazing! GOOOO WIIINGS!
-
I'm going to game 5! Section 222, Row 13! Knowing I'd for sure get to go to game 5 was the only good thing that came from game 2.
-
I live in Torrance, but I'll be back in Detroit for most of the Wings/Ducks series (going to game 5 though!). Hopefully I can make it out to some of these parties in the next round!

I was at a suuuuuuper swanky wedding in Beverly Hills this weekend and the groom's father was pointing out all of these insanely successful businessmen (many of which were worth $50 million+), and he mentioned there was a hockey agent at the wedding who represented 70-80 clients and that Sidney Crosby was one of them. He was going to introduce me to him, but the opportunity never came up. Would have loved to pick his brain on all things hockey and what he thought of the Wings' recent super long-term deals, but didn't get the chance.

How about Loui Eriksson for the Lady Bing? 27 goals 17 assists +10 6 PIM

Does anyone know which goalie will start tomorow. I'm playing against Ozzie this week in my fantasy league and I have a slight lead in the goalie categories right now. My opponent has Ozzie playing and I have Nabokov playing against the Devils, so I'm trying to figure out if I should start Nabby or not...
