    Will #5 be back?

I'm not ready for life without Lids. I need one more year, then I'll be ready. Thanks, Nick.

    Here's an off-season plan

    Yeah, that's somewhat realistic...

$35 All YOu Can Drink in Tampa

It's Coors attempt at a craft brew. It's a Belgium white. It's decent if you don't know where to find actual Belgium whites. Just to say, there's plenty of us who could find a "$35 all you can drink" and make it finacially responsible *and* not aren't drunken messes in public. 35 bucks at $5 a beer = 7 beers. Even if those are 12 full ounces (doubtfully) that's not that much to people who regularly consume alcohol responsibily. Hell, I've had 8 or 9 pints of beer today (Happy St Paddy's Day to all!) and you don't even have to smell me.

Flyers fans attack Rangers fans after Winter Classic

LOL. I have a degree in history as well. I just don't use it to justify shortsighted points and reinforce it with s***ty logic. But you do, so that's cool. But you say you are a historian so…

Flyers fans attack Rangers fans after Winter Classic

I never said you were basing anything off of one event. I'm not sure how you came to that point, but whatever, that's you, not me. I have not missed what the media has been saying about Philly sports fans, which is why I also said . I stand behind that. It's like the booing Santa story. No one seems to understand the actual story, and more importantly, the context of the events. But, it's used, incorrectly, as proof that Philly has horrible fans. Again, I know there have been many instances where Philly fans acted poorly, the whole J D Drew thing, and appluading when Michael Irvin was injured coem to mind immediately, but I still argue that it's abotu the same as any city. Chicago had a father and son run on the field to attack a coach. Yet, there's no running meme about Chicago fans. I find it revealing that you are willing to discount 30 years of being an away fan at Philly games, to include playoff game the home team lost, but will use a book (a form of media) as evidence… and complain that my multiple experiences are a poor defense… while parroting the line media puts out there to have something to talk about. It's interesting circular logic, it's just not correct. It's sad that you will regurgitate what the media says without any firsthand experience (wait, you *have* gone to at least one game in Philly, right…?), while discounting the hundreds of times I have attended a sporting event in Philly wearing the jersey of a Detroit team with zero incidents. And I assure you, I am a vocal fan. But hey, Dryden says something, and ESPN agrees, so it's a fact.I'm glad you feel that "a women" being subject to being hit by a car is icing on some sort of cake, but there's illegal activity in every city and town in the world. That hardly means the fans in that city or town are bad. Even if it happened in the parking lot of a sporting event, it shows you, at the worse, that three people are jackasses whose feeling of self-importance trump their desire to function responsibily in society. Wow, such damning evidence. Three people are assholes. Yep, the entire fanbase of the city is horrible. Hope you enjoy that cake.

Flyers fans attack Rangers fans after Winter Classic

Get over yourself. I've been going to Wings-Flyers games in Philly as a Wings fan for 3 decades now. No issues (to include the 97 SCF games…). I didn't act like a ****** bag, I got treated like a hockey fan. Not to say there aren't d-bag Philly fans, but there are d-bag fans in every town with a team. Lots (but not all) of the stories about how horrible Philly fans are are exaggerated or completely fabricated because it's cool to tell a story about d-bag Philly fans. But no, one dude beats the crap out of somebody = all sports fans in a city of 1.5 million are horrible human beings…

    Crosby has "concussion symptoms"

I never thought I say such a thing, but I want him to get better. I don't like the douchef*** one bit, but him not playing is a loss for the entire NHL. He's good for the game.

Current point system is BADLY flawed

How can you say that with a straight face whn we play in the Central Division of the Western Conference?

    11/26 GDT : Predators 1 at Red Wings 4

Did we only win because Jimmy's awesomeness outshone our soft Euro ways yet again? I'm starting to hate this team I love.

    Flyers fans boo anti-cancer commercial

These. If you know the real story of The Great Pelting of Santa Claus, you know it's because they were finally fed up with the BS the owners were pulling with the team, and took it out out (poorly, mind you) on a skinny Santa Claus. I'm from Philly, but my dad's from Detroit and I was raising right, but there's plenty of other things to hate Philly sports fans for- cheering injuried players (Michael Irvin) or throwing batteries at players (quite a few but J D Drew comes to mind) - so stop the ZOMG THEY BOOED SANTA thing.

    2012-13 Realignment Leak?

I realize you are only presenting this as an idea to keep the Canadien teams together, but that's beyond retarded. Make every division have a s***ty travel schedule besides the Eastern?

    Congratulations to the Phoenix Coyotes

That's not the dichotomy I was talking about. If you want to argue that finishing in the top 8 of 13 teams is "success", I am willing to entertain that debate, though I doubt I will agree with you. However, if you are seriously trying to tell me that getting swept in the first round by a team that you took to 7 games the year before is something besides failure, I probably won't be able to agree. They are the only team swept in the first round. I suppose they got the revenue from two playoff games, which is good.

    Congratulations to the Phoenix Coyotes

Yeah, it's great when you are dealing with children. We're talking professional athletes. There's no "Participation" ribbon in the NHL. Yes, they tried really hard and had a s***ty ownership cloud over their head. Sucks. Then they got swept. By a team they took to 7 last year. Honestly, I'm not sure I am sure of what I should be congratulating them for? Trying hard while being paid tons of money to play hockey, but failing to do it well? I have no issue with humility- as I said, they played hard. But that's also their job.

    Kronwall

He scored more goals, and was a little better defensively, but I'm not ready to pretend he's "turned the corner". Hell, he's 30, he shouldn't need to stop overthinking. When does that go away? He had almost 20 less assists than his last full year. His +/- was almost 20 lower than the year before that ( I know, useless stat…). Plus, I don't really recall many big hits. Yeah, I'm jaded by my Lidstrom hard-on, but I don't think this was a standout year for Kronner. He did well. I thought he could do better.
