Potential unpopular opinions: - I think Jimmy's earned the right to start next week in the opener. He's been solid all preseason. - I still think Larkin should start in the AHL. He's good, but he can be great. Just needs to bulk up and fine-tune a few aspects of his game. - Drew Miller has mad value, yo.

I hate Kronwall and Ericsson together in all scenarios. They just don't complement or make each other better at all. I really wish they could find a way to break up that pairing for good.

Wait until the kid actually gets strong. He's really good now, and he's noticeably smaller than everyone else on the ice. A years worth of pro training and he will be even better.

I know it's their thing and all, but Larkin doesn't need ripening of any sort. That kid can play in the NHL right now.

But like I said before and in past posts, from a business viewpoint, it may be in the Wings best interest to have Howard re-establish himself as the legit #1. Not that I don't want Petr to make all the $$$ he can, but IMO, and I could be wrong, if he only plays 30 games it may cost us a lot less to re-sign him rather then if he played 50+ and win the starting job...that would mean a HUGE raise.

goalies Mrazek and Howard have played in three preseason games each. Howard: 2.00 GAA and .943 SV%; Mrazek: 2.38 GAA and .929 SV% Just read this, I'm sure some of you have as well. Just thought it was interesting. For the record, I'm a fan of both, but really like Howard, and feel kind of bad for him last year, so I'm hoping he can still hopefully pull it out, and extend his career.

no, what I'm trying to say is that the pre season is a chance for young players to impress against mostly other peers and veterans that aren't going full speed. I like most think Larkin has done that, yes I want him to bulk up signs be around 210 when he comes up. but more importantly would be developing chemistry with Mantha.

The abdelkader, green, nyquist pass sequence on Z goal was one of the best ive seen in a while.

So then why not let him? That's what I don't get about those saying he's better off in the A playing top line minutes. Playing 3-4th line minutes in Detroit he's: A) Lining up against players better than 1st line AHL players B) Learning from our veterans, and other team's veterans C) Already a large upgrade over Andersson and, probably, the oft-injured Darren Helm Holland's a stubborn old goat. Who hasn't the kid impressed? Let him play.

Every game I've been able to watch, so impressed by Richards. Such a smart hockey player.

I get the numbers game, I get we're over the cap, I get we overripe our prospects. Larkin is ready man, the kid just brings it. I really won't care if he starts in the minors because if GR's top 6 has Larkin, Mantha, AA and Bert in it, I'm pysched. I think he has to get a look with Pav out is all.
